Steve Crothers began his career in the fire service in 1995 and has been with the Seattle Fire Department since 1999. He founded the tiller operator training program for the Seattle Fire Department, and he has served in SFD’s Training Division as the Driver/Operator Training Officer. He was the lead on developing the “Raleigh/Seattle Accident Prevention” video. He created TractorDrawnAerial.com to share his passion for and knowledge of aerial apparatus.
Steve’s expertise has been sought out by tractor drawn aerial manufacturers which has resulted in major design changes. These changes have increased the usability, maneuverability, and safety of tractor drawn aerials. He has also worked and consulted with fire departments around the country helping with the design and functionality during the purchase phase.
Steve Crothers also has extensive professional knowledge in the field of design, development, and delivery of training curriculum. He has been providing training for many years and has thousands of hours of instructional experience teaching to fire departments around the U.S. and Canada. He has also taught at many large conferences including the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) and the IAFF Redmond Symposium.
Steve is passionate about providing the finest training available and takes great pride in helping students reach their full potential though learning. He is deeply committed to the process of self-improvement as a trainer. Steve has invested resources and time in building, developing, and encouraging instructors around the country.
